![]() ![]() ![]() If there's one thing game fans can count on, it's Sega's willingness to take big risks. We break down each segment of a game, and then tell you which platform reigns supreme when the dust settles. I hope this blog post can make you can see why I prefer the 360/PS3 versions of Sonic Unleashed over the Wii/PS2 versions.About The Head-to-Head The Head-to-Head is designed to let gamers know which version of a multiplatform game is worth your hard-earned money. Unless you like concept art, there just isn't anything to bring you back. I go back to them every now and again and never regret it. Some levels look quite nice, with Adabat being my favorite, but other places such as Spagonia look like they are still in a beta release.ģ60/PS3 Although I will never go back to play as the Werehog, I still get a kick out of Sonic's stages. Where are the beautiful, open hub-world's of the 360/PS3 versions. But this version only looks 'OK' at best. Wii/PS2: I'm not going to compare the graphics from the HD versions to the Wii/PS2 as I know they are not technically capable of pulling them off. I do prefer Sonic Colours & Sonic Generation's environments but I do think this is a beautiful game. When in motion, it really makes you feel like your going extremely fast. Each area has it's own distinct feel and the cartoonish look is very splendid indeed. Other than this, there really are no other improvements.ģ60/PS3: Due to the HD Power of the 360 & PS3, Sonic Unleashed is a very gorgeous looking game. His levels don't stretch out nearly as long, and I must say it is quite satisfying to use the Wiimote & Nunchuck to take out foes. Wii/PS2: I will say that I prefer the Werehog in this version. However, there are many combo moves you can use in this version, so at least there are many ways to defeat the bland enemies. The levels can be incredibly long, sometimes stretching to 20 minutes, and the enemies are very repetitive. This get's you tired very quickly and I'm worn out after only a couple of levels.ģ60/PS3: I'm not going to go on a rampage on how I hate the Werehog, but I will just say the important things about his levels. To continue boosting, you need to repeatedly pump your arms up and down. But what I hate the most is that when you want to boost, you need to pump your arms up and down quickly. To homing attack, you need to flick the controllers down or up, which get's very annoying. Also, this version's control is very gimmicky if you are using the Wiimote & Nunchuck combination. ![]() Sonic is very unresponsive, which has lead to my death on numerous occasions. Compared to the control in the 360/PS3 versions, it is literally garbage. Overall, Sonic's control if flawed, but works just fine in this version. My main gripe with the control is that to homing attack, you press the action button instead of double tapping the jump button, which irritates me a little bit. His control can be slippery at time however, especially when you are controlling him on a platform. His boost gauge isn't limited by slots (meaning you can simply hold the button down) and he moves around just find. 360/PS3: Sonic's Gameplay in this version feels very fluent. ![]()
